In two different matches in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, Angkrish Raghuvanshi smashed an 18-ball fifty, while Tamil Nadu created a record for the sixth wicket.
Mumbai beat Arunachal Pradesh by nine wickets in a Vijay Hazare Trophy match at the Gujarat College Cricket Ground ‘A’ in Ahmedabad. Arunachal Pradesh were bowled out for 73 after Shardul Thakur won the toss and opted to field. Thakur himself took 2-8, Harsh Tanna 2-11, Himanshu Singh 2-10, and Atharva Ankolekar 2-17.
Mumbai took only 5.3 overs to chase the target. Opener Raghuvanshi did the bulk of the scoring, finishing on 50 not out off 18 balls. He hit nine fours and a six. This is now the joint third-fastest fifty in the history of the Vijay Hazare Trophy.
Before the ongoing edition, Atit Sheth was the only batter to have hit a fifty below 18 balls in the tournament. Suyash Prabhudessai, however, had taken only 17 balls on December 21, five days before Raghuvanshi.
