The upcoming edition of the Vijay Hazare Trophy, India’s premier List A tournament will start tomorrow (December 21) – here’s where you can watch Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024/25 live, including TV broadcast and live streaming details.
Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024/25 schedule
The 32nd edition of the Vijay Hazare Trophy will see 38 teams split into five groups vying for the title between December 21 and January 18. Groups A, B and C consist of eight teams while E and F have seven.
Here are the five groups:
Group A: Haryana, Gujarat, Uttarakhand, Odisha, Jharkhand, Goa, Manipur, Assam
Group B: Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Services, Railways, Himachal Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Meghalaya, Sikkim
Group C: Karnataka, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Saurashtra, Punjab, Pondicherry, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland
Group D: Tamil Nadu, Vidarbha, Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Chandigarh, Jammu & Kashmir, Mizoram
Group E: Bengal, Karnataka, Tripura, Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, Baroda, Bihar
Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024/25 format
The tournament will be played in a round-robin format, with the knockout stage starting from January 9 next year in Vadodara. A total of 135 matches will be played during the season, with seven rounds of group matches. The knockout stage comprises two playoff games, four quarter-finals, two semi-finals and the final.
The five winners of each group along with the best-performing runners-up across the groups will directly reach the quarters, while the remaining two slots will be determined by the preliminary quarter-finals, set to be players among the four other runners-up.
Haryana will enter the season as the defending champions.
Salman Nizar will lead the Kerala team for the Vijay Hazare Trophy in the absence of Sanju Samson.
