
Bangladesh's veteran all-rounder Mahmudullah has announced his retirement from international cricket.
In a social post today (March 12), Mahmudullah, 39, announced his decision to retire from international cricket. The all-rounder had featured for Bangladesh in the recently concluded 2025 Champions Trophy, but didn't have the best of outings, scoring four runs in the only match he was able to play.

"All praises only for the Almighty Allah. I have decided to retire from international cricket," Mahmudullah wrote in a Facebook post. "I would like to thank all of my teammates, coaches & specially my fans who has always supported me.
"A big thank you to my parents, my in laws specially my father in law & most importantly my brother Emdad Ullah who has been there for me constantly since my childhood as my coach & mentor.
"And finally thanks to my wife & kids who have been my support system through thick & thin. I know raeid will miss me in red & green jersey. Not everything comes to an end in a perfect way but you say yes & move forward. PEACE........... Alhamdulillah Best wishes to my team & Bangladesh cricket."
Mahmudullah made his international debut in 2007, playing at the top level for 18 years. He featured in 50 Tests, 239 ODIs, and 141 T20Is for Bangladesh, scoring more than 11,000 runs and picking 166 wickets across formats. His four ODI hundreds all came in either World Cup or Champions Trophy matches.
Last week, another senior Bangladesh player Mushfiqur Rahim had announced his retirement from international cricket.
