Akeal Hosein (C) of Trinbago Knight Riders celebrates with teammates Kieron Pollard (R) and Dwayne Bravo (L) after dismissing Keemo Paul of Guyana Amazon Warriors during the Republic Bank Caribbean Premier League Final between Trinbago Knight Riders and Guyana Amazon Warriors at Providence Stadium on September 24, 2023 in Georgetown, Guyana.

The list of retained and signed players before the draft for season 12 of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) was released earlier this week. Trinbago Knight Riders made a few changes to their squad while keeping their core intact.

Trinbago Knight Riders have acquired Jason Roy and Tim David as their new signings ahead of the upcoming CPL season. They have kept their experienced core of marquee West Indies players in Kieron Pollard, Sunil Narine, Nicholas Pooran, Dwayne Bravo and Andre Russell. Other retained domestic stars include Akeal Hosein, Keacy Carty, Mark Deyal, Jayden Seales and Terrance Hinds.

Among overseas stars, they have also retained Ireland left-arm pacer Josh Little and USA fast bowler Ali Khan, along with Afghanistan left-arm wrist-spinner Waqar Salamkheil.

The season will mark Roy’s maiden gig in the tournament. David, meanwhile, had debuted for St Lucia Kings in 2021 before being signed as an injury replacement for TKR in 2023.

The Knight Rides are the most successful side in the competition, with four trophies to their name. Last year, they were beaten by Guyana Amazon Warriors in the final, owing to Dwaine Pretorius’s 4-26. They will play their curtain-raiser against St Kitts and Nevis Patriots on September 1.
