England and Surrey seamer Tom Curran has been ruled out of the remainder of the English summer with a side injury.
The oldest Curran brother, who was a member of England’s World Cup-winning squad, sustained the injury during Surrey’s recent win in the T20 Blast against Sussex.
While he won’t take any further part in Surrey’s season, he is aiming to be fit again and available for selection for England’s tour to New Zealand in October and November. The tour consists of five T20Is, two Tests and no ODIs as focus shifts towards to the shortest of the three international formats ahead of next year’s T20 World Cup.
😢 Get Well Soon Tom!

Curran, the joint leading wicket-taker in this season’s T20 Blast, has endured an odd season. While he was a part of England’s 15-man World Cup squad, he didn’t feature in the tournament at all despite impressing in the five-match ODI series against Pakistan in May.

Surrey have won just six out of their 29 matches in all competitions this season and currently lie in seventh place in the South Group of the T20 Blast.
