The winners

Shafali Verma

Verma has retained her place in Grade B despite not having played for the national team since October last year. The opener, who stunned the cricketing world with her power-hitting as a 16-year-old in the 2020 T20 World Cup, has seen her form nosedive in the last few months. Since the start of 2023, she averages 14.12 in ODIs and 27.13 in T20Is. While she made a double hundred in the South Africa Test, she is no longer a sure starter. However, she has not seen a pay cut and is in the same bracket she was in two years ago.

Shreyanka Patil

Patil had a meteoric rise after winning the Purple Cap in the WPL last year. The off-spinner has played 19 games across formats, picking a total of 25 wickets. In T20Is, she has been most impressive, grabbing 20 wickets at 19.20 and conceding runs at 6.73 an over.

Sneh Rana

Rana has played just one game for India since 2024, turning out in the one-off Test against South Africa at Chennai. Her last ODI appearance was in December 2023 while she played her latest T20I over two years ago, in February 2023. She has managed to cling to her place in Group C nonetheless.

Losers

Harleen Deol

Deol, who had received a Grade C package last time around, has not been given a central contract for this season despite smashing her debut international ton against West Indies in January. Deol had suffered a knee injury during the 2024 WPL that saw her miss nearly 10 months of action. However, she has been in fine touch since her return, scoring 354 runs in nine ODIs with one hundred and a fifty.

Pratika Rawal

Rawal has replaced Verma at the top of the order for India in ODIs, making a sensational start to her career. In six innings, she has crossed 50 three times along with scoring 154 against Ireland in January. She has made 444 runs thus far, the highest any woman has scored in her first six ODI innings, according to ESPNCricinfo.
