We’re closing in on two weeks since the start of The Hundred women’s competition, with each side having contested at least four matches.
Southern Brave sit at the top of the standings with four wins out of four, while the winless Manchester Originals are stuck at the bottom.
We’ve taken a close look at the best individual performers in the tournament so far and picked out an XI.
Jemimah Rodrigues – Northern Superchargers
4 matches, 223 runs @ 74.33. SR: 161.59
The star of the tournament so far. The India batter has dominated at the top of the order for Northern Superchargers – the leading run-scorer in the competition, she currently holds the record for the highest score in it too thanks to her unbeaten 92 against Welsh Fire.
Hayley Matthews – Welsh Fire
4 matches, 155 runs @ 51.55, SR: 139.63 | 5 wickets @ 17.40, RPB: 1.16
Matthews has offered consistency at the top of the order – after four knocks she has yet to register a score under 20. She’s contributed with the ball too, taking 3-23 in the Fire’s 12-run win over Oval Invincibles.
Danni Wyatt – Southern Brave
4 matches, 109 runs @ 36.33, SR: 136.25
The England batter was at her belligerent best in a chase of 141 against Birmingham Phoenix, striking an unbeaten 69 off 40 to guide her side home.
Nat Sciver – Trent Rockets
4 matches, 136 runs @ 34, SR: 149.45 | 3 wickets @ 36.66, RPB: 1.69
While she’s yet to reach fifty, Sciver has been in fine form at No.3 for the Rockets – Rodrigues and Matthews are the only players to have hit more runs in the tournament so far.
Amy Jones (wk) – Birmingham Phoenix
4 matches, 107 runs @ 35.66, SR: 164.61 | 4 dismissals
Jones has batted at No.3, 4 and 5, and showed tremendous power in all of those positions – no one with as many runs in the tournament has as high a strike rate.
Stafanie Taylor – Southern Brave
4 matches, 113 runs, SR: 116.49 | 2 wickets @ 44, RPB: 1.35
Yet to be dismissed in the tournament, Taylor has excelled as Southern Brave’s finisher. She was Player of the Match in her side’s first match, hitting an unbeaten 45 off 31 balls in a 23-run win over the Rockets.
Alice Davidson-Richards – Northern Superchargers
4 matches, 89 runs @ 44.50, SR: 109.87 | 7 wickets @ 16.57, RPB: 1.45
Davidson-Richards has put up impressive numbers with both bat and ball for Northern Superchargers, and was particularly inspirational in her side’s win over the Invincibles: an unbeaten 42 off 30 balls was followed up by figures of 2-17.
Sammy-Jo Johnson – Trent Rockets
4 matches, 9 wickets @ 9.33, ER: 1.12
While she opens the batting for the Rockets, Johnson lands a spot in this side for her bowling – she currently leads the wicket-taking charts in the women’s competition.
Anya Shrubsole (c) – Southern Brave
4 matches, 6 wickets @ 12, RPB: 1.01
Shrubsole merits a spot not just for her bowling – at the helm of Southern Brave, she’s overseen an unbeaten start to the tournament.
Amanda-Jade Wellington – Southern Brave
4 matches, 8 wickets @ 7.37, RPB: 0.73
The Australian leg-spinner has taken at least two wickets in each of her last three fixtures and returned figures of 4-14 in her side’s demolition of London Spirit.
Linsey Smith – Northern Superchargers
4 matches, 7 wickets @ 9, RPB: 0.78
The England left-arm spinner opened her account for the tournament with excellent figures of 3-14 against the Fire and has maintained her excellence – of those to have bowled at least 80 balls in the tournament, only Wellington has a better economy rate.
