David Miller has rubbished reports that he had retired from T20 internationals after South Africa's seven run defeat against India in the T20 World Cup final on Saturday.

"Contrary to some reports, I have not retired from T20 international cricket," wrote David Miller on his Instagram story earlier today (July 2). His statement came in response to a number of unsubstantiated reports claiming he had retired after his team's heartbreaking loss against India in Barbados.

He was dismissed off a Hardik Pandya full-toss, which saw Suryakumar Yadav take a stunning catch, when South Africa needed 16 from the final over.

Miller, 35, has been an instrumental part of South Africa's white-ball sides for over a decade. He has the second-most runs for them in T20I cricket, has hit more T20I sixes (115) than any other South African batter, is the only South African to score two T20I centuries, and has hit the joint-fastest T20I hundred against a Test-playing nation.

On the same Instagram story, Miller clarified his availability: "I will continue to be available to play for the Proteas," adding "the best is yet to come".

Having established himself as one of white-ball cricket's finest finishers, Miller remains one of South Africa's greatest assets. They will bank on his continued availability, with the Champions Trophy, T20 World Cup, and ODI World Cup all set to take place in the next three years.
