16 teams – India, Australia, Pakistan, England, South Africa, New Zealand, West Indies, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Netherlands, Papua New Guinea, Ireland, Namibia, Scotland and Oman will be competing in the T20 World Cup this year. Barring India, who qualified as hosts, the first nine teams qualified based on the ICC men’s T20I team rankings, while the other six qualified based on results of the 2019 T20 World Cup Qualifier in UAE.
