New Zealand’s domestic T20 competition, the Super Smash, will get underway for the 2024-25 season – here are the full squad and team lists for each side in the Super Smash.
When will the Super Smash 2024-25 take place?
The 20th edition of the tournament will feature 32 matches set to be played between December 26 and February 2. The six teams vying for the title are Canterbury, Central Stags, Wellington Firebirds, Northern Districts, Auckland Aces and Otago Volts.
Auckland have been the most successful side in the tournament with five titles to their name. They enter the season as the defending title winners. Despite last year's final being abandoned due to rain, they were named champions for topping the points table.
What's the format of Super Smash 2024-25?
The teams will compete in a round-robin format where each side plays each other twice before three qualify for the play-offs. The top-placed team heads straight through to the final while the second- and third-placed sides face off in an Eliminator, with the winner qualifying for the final.
The tournament features a blend of youth and experience with Logan van Beek, Blair Tickner, Neil Wagner, and IPL-bound Bevon Jacobs as notable international stars, among others.
