India’s star pace bowler Jasprit Bumrah has been ruled out of India’s upcoming Test series against South Africa with a minor stress fracture in his lower back.
Bumrah has been replaced in the squad by Umesh Yadav, who last appeared in Test cricket on India’s tour to Australia last year. Bumrah is currently ranked third in the world Test bowling rankings and has an impressive 62 wickets from his first 12 Tests. He recently took combined figures of 13-120 on India’s recently tour to West Indies.

The three-match series begins on October 2nd in Visakhapatnam. The two series recently tied a T20I series 1-1. Bumrah was rested from that series.
