Sri Lanka Cricket is hopeful of hosting India in June-July, as the country eases restrictions on movements, having contained the spread of the novel coronavirus, Covid-19 to a largely good effect, an ESPNcricinfo states.
Sri Lanka are set to host both India and Bangladesh in July, and with there being a good chance of a resumption in sport being allowed soon, Sri Lanka figures to be one of the first nations to restart cricketing activity.
“We have made inquiries from both the India and Bangladesh boards and are awaiting a response from them,” Ashley de Silva, the SLC CEO, told ESPNcricinfo. “As of now, those series haven’t been postponed.”

However, nothing is confirmed, as things stand, as neither the BCB, nor the BCCI, has confirmed the availability of its respective national teams, with travel restrictions still in place in both countries.
India’s government recently said that the sporting sector can reopen but with bans on spectators at ground. Despite that, Arun Dhumal, the BCCI treasurer, had said that nothing figures to start immediately, with a decision on even the IPL, a local tournament, not being taken yet, as travel restrictions bring forth several logistical challenges.
Sri Lanka are set to host India for three ODIs and three T20Is, followed by a three-Test series against Bangladesh.
