South African teenager Lhuan-dre Pretorius smashed his second consecutive List A century on Sunday (March 2), including a brutal takedown of Test spinner Senuran Muthusamy.

In the fifth round of the 2025 CSA Provincial One-Day Challenge (Division One), the Momentum Multiply Titans took on the Northwest Warriors at SuperSport Park, looking to notch up a second win of the season.

In a match shortened to 43 overs a side due to rain, the Warriors won the toss and elected to field first. Lhuan-dre Pretorius opened the innings for the Titans alongside Rivaldo Moonsamy, and the pair got off to a solid start, putting on 50 in 7.5 overs.

Pretorius then took on the bulk of the run-scoring, putting his foot down and reaching a half-century in the 13th over, off 42 balls. The team 100 came up at the end of the 14th over. Off the 16th over, Moonsamy hit two fours and Pretorius one six as they took 17 runs off Siya Plaatjie – but this was just a teaser.

The next over, South Africa international Senuran Muthusamy came on to bowl, with the left-handed Pretorius on strike. The 18-year-old tore into the four-Test capped spinner, hitting five sixes off the over. Three went over long on, one over long-off and one over midwicket.

The brutal hitting moved Pretorius from 58 off 50 balls to 88 off 56. In the 20th over, the first of two consecutive fours off Alfred Mothoa took Pretorius to a century off just 61 balls – the fastest-ever for the Titans in List A cricket. He was eventually dismissed for 107 off 69 balls, with Dewald Brevis taking his place in the middle.

This was Pretorius' second List A hundred, after his first (120 off 96 balls) came in the Titans' previous match against Western Province. His other two scores this season are 6 (14) and 44 (37).

Pretorius represented South Africa at last year's U19 World Cup, and made a barnstorming start to his SA20 career, finishing as the league's top run-scorer in the season just gone, with 397 at a strike rate of nearly 167. His 97 on debut in the competition had seen him name-checked by England captain Ben Stokes.

Prior to the SA20, Pretorius had made waves in South Africa as he scored a century in his maiden first-class innings, scoring 120 after coming in with the Titans reduced to 87-4.
