The UK is in Brexit-induced political turmoil and not even the world of cricket could escape its clutches as two of English cricket’s biggest names let their opinions on the subject known.

Jonathan Agnew decided to publicly call out his BBC colleague Gary Lineker for airing his political views on Twitter. Surely an email would have sufficed, Aggers?

Aggers was reminded that his TMS colleague Michael Vaughan had called for the UK to have a “Donald Trump-style leader” earlier in the week. The former England captain has since deleted the Tweet.

In lighter news, best mates Kate Cross and Alex Hartley had an amusing interaction on Twitter after Hartley was described as an all-rounder in the Australian press. In fairness to Hartley, she has never been dismissed in 26 matches for England (even though her highest score is just 3*).

Elsewhere, Sachin Tendulkar wished happy birthday to Kuldeep Yadav in peculiar style. Referencing Kuldeep’s bowling style – come on Sachin, we call them left-arm wrist-spinners now – Sachin sent Kuldeep a Tweet that was part-Chinese.

Virat Kohli was spotted dancing in the field during India’s win over Australia in Adelaide. But, the question is, what was he listening to in his head? Could it have been Three Lions?

Ashley Giles was named England’s new managing director of cricket this week. Andrew Flintoff knew Giles was destined for the role all the way back in 2005.

And finally, Graeme Swann reckons that he’s in as good a shape now as he was back in early 1999 when he toured Zimbabwe with England ‘A’.
