Sky Sports Cricket have U-turned for a second time and have opted to show the majority of the final day of last year’s Headingley Ashes Test on YouTube after receiving criticism for quietly cancelling the previously advertised stream.
Earlier in the week, Sky Sports Cricket announced that they would be showing the entirety of the fourth day at Headingley on its YouTube channel as well on television this Easter Saturday, meaning that those without a Sky Sports subscription could watch the whole of the final day at Leeds for the first time. On Saturday, all mentions of this plan were removed from their website as well as their social media channels.

However, after attracting criticism from viewers, Sky Sports Cricket hastily moved to put the stream onto YouTube, saying that “we’ve listened to your feedback and will be getting the full day streaming as soon as possible.”
The stream was put on YouTube with play starting at the beginning of the 83rd over of the England run chase. The first 10 overs of the day, that saw Joe Root fall for 77, were not shown on YouTube.
