Afghanistan’s Shpageeza Cricket League 2024 will start on August 12 – here’s all you need to know about the tournament’s schedule, including the full fixtures, venues and timings.
The ninth season of the Shpageeza Cricket League will be played between August 12 and 25. Kabul International Stadium will host all the 21 games, including the final.
The competition, originally scheduled to take place in September last year, was postponed. It has been reduced from eight teams to five this year. The sides include Speen Ghar Tigers, Band-e-Amir Dragons, Amo Sharks, Mis Ainak Knights and Boost Defenders.
Can Speen Ghar defend their Shpageeza Cricket League title?
Speen Ghar Tigers are the current title-holders, having won in 2022. They will be led by Rashid Khan.
Najibullah Zadran was the Player of the Series that year. Boost Defenders' Hashmatullah Shahidi was the top run-getter (411), while Kabul Eagles' Qais Ahmad and Boost Defenders' Zia-ur-Rehman were the joint-highest wicket-taker, with 14 wickets each.
The curtain-raiser will be played between Speen Ghar Tigers and Band-e-Amir Dragons.
