Kumar Sangakkara has been summoned by the country’s Special Investigation Division of the Ministry of Sports to record a statement over 2011 World Cup final match-fixing allegations made by former sports minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage.
According to dailymirror.lk, Sangakkara, who captained Sri Lanka in the tournament, has been called in to record a statement on Thursday. Earlier today, Upul Tharanga became the first player to appear in front of the special division investigating the allegations. “They asked a few questions in connection with the ongoing investigation,” Tharanga was quoted as saying by AFP. “I gave my statement.”
Sri Lanka’s national selection committee chairman at the time, Aravinda de Silva was questioned regarding the fixing allegations on Tuesday as well.
Sangakkara, along with former teammate Mahela Jayawardene, had earlier shared his thoughts on the fixing allegations through Twitter, saying Aluthgamage, who made the accusations, “needs to take his ‘evidence’ to the ICC and the Anti Corruption and Security Unit so the claims can be investigated throughly [sic].”

According to ESPN Cricinfo, Jayawardene has been summoned to record his statement as well.
