Kumar Sangakkara and Kevin Pietersen took to Twitter today to light-heartedly mock the size of Ravi Bopara’s waistline.
Bopara had initially posted a photo on Twitter of a youth team he played in that was coached by Haydn Davies, a legendary youth coach at Essex who passed away earlier this week. Bopara captioned the photo, which featured a rather portly young version of himself, “Look how fat I was” along with a donut emoji.

Sangakkara, who was a teammate of Bopara’s in the PSL with Karachi Kings in 2017, replied saying, “And you still are”. Pietersen then joined in with the fun, agreeing with Sangakkara by tweeting, “Exactly. Nothing’s changed.” A combined 41,832 international runs piling on Bopara in the space of a few minutes.
