During his maiden outing, left-arm spinner R Sai Kishore claimed 1-25 in four overs and held three catches. In the process, he became the second cricketer, after Pakistan’s Hussain Talat, to grab a wicket and three catches on men’s T20I debut.
After the match, he paid tribute to those who had helped him during his formative years. In a social media post, he recalled his struggles involving his blood, sweat and tears.
“MIRACLES DO COME TRUE. Not here because of talent or ability. Here because of 4ams, hard work and a dream which didn’t make me sleep for some years now. An ordinary boy in Madipakkam dreaming to play for the INDIAN CRICKET TEAM and actually making it, MIRACLES DO COME TURE. Grateful to universe, Family, and friends. Celebrating every moment of life. Love to all,” he wrote.

His first-class and List A numbers read 113 and 73, respectively.
Earlier, during the pre-match anthems, Sai Kishore couldn’t hold back his tears of joy when the Indian anthem started playing. The raw emotions depicted how much he valued and craved the opportunity. Now that Sai Kishore is an Indian international, he will look to build on the start.
India made 202-4 and bowled out Nepal for 179 to qualify for the semi-finals.
