Sachin Tendulkar has finally managed to get on the Lord’s honours board – virtually that is!
Picked in a World XI by Sky Sports Cricket pundit Nasser Hussain to take on a team selected by his fellow commentator Rob Key in a simulated Test match, Tendulkar’s poor trot at Lord’s seemed set to continue when the Little Master was dismissed for 13 in the first innings, caught by Graeme Smith.
While there are few milestones Tendulkar didn’t bring up in his long and storied career, a century at the Home of Cricket, and hence a place on one of the famous dressing room honours boards, always eluded him; in 12 innings at the London ground across Tests and ODIs, he averaged just 20 with a high score of 37.
Time for a Lord's scone at tea time on day five. The new ball did the trick for Rob Key's XI with a wicket for each of the three seamers in the last hour, including Tendulkar for 104 on the stroke of the interval. 98 to win from a minimum of 36.2 overs after tea. pic.twitter.com/PGq1GwwmAV

But in the second innings, chasing 347 to win and with his team in a hole, Tendulkar brought up the only century of the game to give his side a sniff. In the end, having been dismissed on the stroke of tea, it had to be chalked up as just another great Tendulkar knock in vain.
