Former England batsman and Sky Sports Cricket pundit Rob Key is recovering in hospital from a “mini stroke”, according to a post on his Instagram page.
The 41-year-old posted a picture of himself in a hospital bed with the caption saying: “Long weekend. Turns out I’ve had a mini stroke. Thanks to everyone at the Kent and Canterbury hospital, especially Charlie and Dr. Baht. Now got to eat food with no flavour and take pills.”
After a successful career for England and Kent, in which he scored 54 first-class hundreds, including a Test double-century against West Indies, Key has gone onto to become a highly respected commentator and pundit. The Sky Sports Cricket Podcast, of which he has hosted many episodes, have been one of the features of lockdown, as have the Sky Sports Watchalongs of several classic England matches, getting the thoughts of the key participants as the action is replayed.
