Jaydev Unadkat’s omission from the Indian white-ball squad to tour Sri Lanka has not gone down well with the Twitter community, who have been left wondering at what more the pacer needs to do to earn a national call-up.

A few days after it came to light that the Saurashtrian might never make it to the Indian team again as he was “too old”, Unadkat was ignored from the T20I and ODI team. It further infuriated fans on Twitter, who believed that his performances warranted a selection.
Overall, the bowler has picked up 327 First-Class wickets, 141 List A scalps, and 182 wickets in T20 cricket. He has been the mainstay for Saurashtra over the years, and the continuous cold shoulder has not been taken kindly.
Add Jaydev Unadkat to this list too. I don’t know how much more does he have to do to break into the squad.

Dear Indian selectors,
What more is required for people like Sheldon Jackson and Jaydev Unadkat performing well season after season in domestic cricket to be selected in the Indian national cricket team, at least on tours like SL #INDvSL— vineet jacob (@JacobVineet) June 11, 2021
Jaydev Unadkat – 67 wickets in 10 matches at an average of 13. At least he deserves a place on this squad.
Ranji Tournament is a joke.
Why K Gowtham & that Saini? https://t.co/Xllx2i8W2B

The only way Jaydev Unadkat should have missed the Sri Lanka bus was if he was in England, at least as part of the reserves. Got to feel for him. Sixty-seven wickets in a Ranji season, much of the wickets on flat decks in Rajkot, is no joke.

It’s really a harsh call on Jaydev unadkat after performing so well throughout the domestic season

A few others, however, were disappointed that he was not in the Test squad already.
I still have reservations about Undakat the limited overs bowler, which is why I didn’t mention his name here. But I’ve said it before, Unadkat should have been in our test squads a couple of years ago itself.

Surely Unadkat could have had a look in for the Test squad, as a reserve with the hard yards put in at the domestic level.. but not so sure about the LOI squad for the SL tour..
Unfortunately hasn’t done much in the limited-overs format or in the IPL to be considered

Unadkat should have been in England in the Test Squad , had a very good ranji season

The last time jalaj played an IPL match he bowled 3 overs for 27 and no wickets. He is 34 years old. If you’ve seen him bowling then he looks more like a test match bowler. Same goes for unadkat.Jaffer kept scoring in domestic in his 40s doesn’t mean he is cut for international

As much as I can understand Unadkat’s exclusion from the white ball squad, it is very unfair on him to not get a test call even at domestic wickets.
