The final round of fixtures before the final is underway, with matches taking place in Indore and Bangalore. Madhya Pradesh are facing off to Bengal, who won their quarter-final against Jharkhand by nine wickets. Bengal haven’t won the Ranji Trophy since 1990, if they are successful on this attempt it will be their third title overall.
Karnataka thrashed Uttarakhand in the quarter-finals by an innings and 281 runs after they amassed 606 in their innings. An unbeaten 161 from Shreyas Gopal was the stand-out performance in that match. They will face Saurashtra in their semi-final. Karnataka are the only unbeaten side remaining in the competition, they topped the points scoring metrics with 35 points from their group in the pre-knockout phases. They are searching for their ninth Ranji Trophy title. Saurashtra have the least previous titles of any of the teams who made the semi-finals. They have won the tournament just once previously, in 2020.
