The premier first-class tournament in Pakistan, the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, will get underway on October 25 with Sindh taking on defending champions Central Punjab, Blochistan clashing with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Nothern going head to head with Southern Punjab.
Apart from the fact that the tournament is going ahead despite the world grappling with the Covid-19 pandemic, the first three rounds of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy 2020-21 will also help Pakistan players in their preparations for their tour of New Zealand, starting in November.

The Quaid-e-Azam Trophy is therefore expected to have a heavy representation of international players in the first few weeks, as players attempt to stake a claim and seal their spots for the party departing to New Zealand for a tour comprising two Tests and three T20Is.
