It is an elusive feat that few have been able to do – to hit six sixes in an over. Nevertheless, joining a list featuring the likes of Sir Garfield Sobers, Yuvraj Singh, Ravi Shastri and Herschelle Gibbs, is Australian teenager Ollie Davies.
On his way to 207 from just 115 balls, Davies hit a whopping 17 sixes for NSW Metro against Northern Territory at Glandore Oval in the CA U-19 Male National Championship. The over of maximums came from the bowling of off-spinner Jack James, as Davies gleefully deposited each delivery over the boundary.
Speaking to cricket.com.au, Davies, just 18 years of age, explained the tactics behind his onslaught.
“I was trying to target (the area) from forward square to cow corner and I was just getting down on the back leg, almost before it was even bowled, and trying to slog sweep them over mid-wicket,” said Davies.

Davies’ double-century say him take his side to 406-4 from their 50 overs, before Northern Territory were bundled out for 238.
Having already represented Australia at U19 level, a future international star may be in the making.
