Ofcom have resolved complaints made against Sky Sports for broadcasting offensive language on two separate occasions during England’s tour of South Africa earlier this year.
The first involved Jos Buttler, who made an obscenity-filled outburst against Vernon Philander which was picked up on the stump microphone, saying to him: “Get out of my f***ing way, f***ing move. F***ing k***head, f***ing get past the line.”
The second was a comment directed by Ben Stokes at a spectator as he walked off after being dismissed, with the all-rounder calling the fan a “f***ing four-eyed c***”. Though the communications regulator considered the broadcasts as containing “the most offensive language”, due to apologies made on air at the time, they consider the matters resolved.
