Bangladesh cricket team has never won a Test in New Zealand, and will look to put up a competitive performance against the Black Caps. The team has already arrived in New Zealand, and will play their first Test from January 1st, 2022 at Mount Maunganui.
For World Test champions New Zealand, it would be yet another opportunity to reaffirm their class at home. The side had a tough time on their away series in India losing the second Test by 372 runs, and this series would be an opportunity to show their mettle in familiar conditions.

New Zealand would be led by Tom Latham, as Kane Williamson has been ruled out due to an elbow injury. Another big name missing is Ajaz Patel, who got a perfect 10-for against India in Mumbai. New Zealand have decided that they’ll back their seamers at home, and have only taken all-round options like Daryl Mitchell and Rachin Ravindra in the squad.

Bangladesh will be without their star allrounder, Shakib Al Hasan for the Tests. The player had cited family reasons for staying away from the Tests, and the board approved of the same early in December. The allrounder had also stated recently how playing all the three formats was near to impossible for him in the near future.
