The tour comprises three unofficial ODIs and two four-day matches across Sylhet and Dhaka between May 5 and 24.

Which capped players have NZ A picked for BAN tour?

Nick Kelly, who made his international debut during the ODI series against Pakistan, will lead the side in the 50-over matches, while Joe Carter will captain the team in the four-day games.

Carter had an impressive record in the subcontinent during New Zealand A's 2022 tour of India. He averages 60 and has scored two hundreds in these conditions so far.

The squad also features recent New Zealand debutants Rhys Mariu and Muhammad Abbas. Both debuted against Pakistan last month. All-rounder Abbas particularly stole the show with the fastest fifty on ODI debut, off just 24 balls. Kelly and Mariu, meanwhile, were the top two run-scorers in the Plunket Shield.

Wicketkeeper Mitch Hay, who scored 99 not out against Pakistan in Hamilton, has made the cut alongside all-rounder Josh Clarkson.

The tourists' fast-bowling stocks include Zak Foulkes and Ben Lister, both with international experience. Wrist-spinner Adi Ashok also features, having earned a Pakistan series call-up after playing two ODIs and a T20I in 2023.

We’re really looking forward to touring Bangladesh: NZ A head coach

Bob Carter will coach the side with assistance from fellow New Zealand Cricket high performance coach Paul Wiseman and former Otago Volts assistant coach Ben McCord.

Carter emphasised that the tour will serve as a valuable learning experience for the squad, offering exposure to challenging subcontinent conditions

"We’re really looking forward to touring Bangladesh. It’s been great to reward solid performers throughout the home summer. The squad’s an exciting mix of domestic talent and international up-and-comers," Carter said.

"For several players, it will be their first time experiencing sub-continent conditions, which will be a great challenge and opportunity to further their skillsets."
