Pakistan will travel to the Netherlands for a three ODIs, starting August 16 — here is the Ned vs Pak 2022 schedule, containing the full list of fixtures and match timings for the tour.
Pakistan, who won their most recent ODI assignment against the West Indies in June, will look to build momentum for the 2023 ICC Cricket World Cup in India. Prior to that, Pakistan had also beaten Australia at home earlier this year.
They have selected a full-strength squad, with Babar Azam leading the side. Mohammad Rizwan will keep wickets and strengthen an already burgeoning reputation. Fakhar Zaman and Imam-ul-Haq will also look to make the most of the batting opportunities that came their way.
Pakistan have left out the off-form Hasan Ali, but with Haris Rauf, Mohammad Wasim, Naseem Shah and Shahnawaz Dahani in the mix, they have ample firepower to rattle the Dutch cage. Shaheen Shah Afridi has also been named in the squad, although there are reports suggesting he will continue rehabilitating from the knee injury he picked up in Sri Lanka.
From Netherlands’ perspective, this is an ideal opportunity to put to bed the ghosts of the England series. The hosts did not have much to celebrate back then with England romping to a 3-0 win. Their task is not going to get simpler against a full-strength Pakistan side. However, with them enjoying home advantage, they might be harbouring hopes of upsetting the Men in Green.
All three games will be played at Rotterdam, with the opening fixture taking place on August 16. The second ODI will be played on August 18, with the final game slated for August 21.
