The inaugural season of Major League Cricket will start on June 13, and is set to last just over two weeks, with the final scheduled for June 30 at Grand Prairie Stadium in Texas. A block of fixtures in the middle of the competition will also be played at Church Street Park in North Carolina.

Six teams will be competing in the competition, which will see IPL franchise launch sister teams states-side. The teams confirmed the be competing are: San Francisco Unicorns, MI New York, Texas Super Kings, Los Angeles Knight Riders, Seattle Orcas and Washington Freedom.

Not all of the players participating in the league have been announced yet. Teams have another two weeks before the competitions starts to confirm their overseas signings. However, all domestic signings have been announced.

Los Angeles Knight Riders are one of the sides who have confirmed all of their overseas players already, with some star names set to join the squad. Jason Roy gave up his England contract in order to take part in the tournament, and will play for the Knight Riders. Although giving up his contract does not prevent him from playing for England, it will allow Roy to take part in the league uninhibited by England commitments.

Lockie Fergusson and Matin Guptill make up the New Zealand contingent in the squad, while KKR’s Sunil Narine and Andre Russell represent West Indies. Adam Zampa, and Rilee Rossouw have also been signed to the side.
