Abhishek Sharma, who featured in India’s T20I series against Bangladesh, will deputise India A’s squad in the Men’s Emerging Teams Asia Cup

The Men's T20 Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2024, organised by the Asian Cricket Council (ACC), started on October 18. Here are the full squads of the eight sides participating in the tournament.

What's the format of the Men's T20 Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2024?

For the first time, the competition will be held in the T20 format. Eight teams are divided into two groups and each will play three games in the league stage until October 23, followed by the semi-finals on October 25 and the final on October 27. The Al Amerat Cricket Ground in Muscat, Oman will host the entire event.

Here are the groups:

Group A: Afghanistan A, Sri Lanka A, Bangladesh A, Hong Kong

Group B: India A, Pakistan A, UAE, Oman

India A will be led by Tilak Varma, with Abhishek Sharma as his deputy. The team also features renowned faces such as Rahul Chahar and Sai Kishore.

For Pakistan A, wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Haris will lead the side. Among new names, Zaman, Ahmed Daniyal and Abdul Samad will play for the Shaheens for the first time. They entered the tournament as the defending champions after defeating India A in the 2023 final, thanks to a 71-ball 108 from Tayyab Tahir.

In five editions so far, Pakistan and Sri Lanka have won twice each, while India lifted the trophy once.
