Tom Banton 8.5/10
137 runs @ 45.66, SR: 153.93, HS: 71
An arrival to savour. A pair of blistering hands to bookend the series, and he played the foil to Jonny Bairstow well in the second game.
Jonny Bairstow 5.5/10
46 runs @ 15.33, SR: 148.38, HS: 44
Two failures sandwiched a rapid 44 which set England on the path to a record chase in the second T20I.
Dawid Malan 5.5/10
84 runs @ 42, SR: 125.37, HS: 54*
Three slow starts for the Middlesaxon turned Yorkshireman this series. The first, a run-a-ball 23, was the worst of the lot, but went unpunished in a rain-ruined game and he carried the second onto an unbeaten half-century to seal a tall chase, albeit in an innings where his was only the third-most vital of three significant hands.
Eoin Morgan 7/10
90 runs @ 30, SR: 187.50, HS: 61
Sensational in the second game when he did kick on, and even when he didn’t, he starts quickly enough to not hamper the team. Arguably only Jos Buttler sits ahead of him now as a pure T20 batsman for England.
Sam Billings 4/10
39 runs @ 19.50, SR: 114.70, HS: 26
A five-ball 10 turned a potentially nervy finish England’s way in the second game, but struggled when given the chance to play a significant hand in the third.
Moeen Ali 7.5/10
70 runs @ 23.33, SR: 166.66, HS: 61, 1 wicket @ 20, ER: 10.00
Welcome back, Moeen Ali, it’s been too long. After a torrid recent (and not so recent) time with the bat, his 33-ball 61, coming when WinViz gave England just a two per cent chance of victory, was arguably the innings of the series. Oddly underused with the ball, but took that rarest of beasts in the third match: A powerplay wicket.
Lewis Gregory 5/10
14 runs @ 7, SR: 127.27, HS: 12, 0 wickets, ER: 9.00
Bowled more and better than most would have expected and batted creditably in the third game of the series.
Saqib Mahmood 4.5/10
0 wickets, ER: 9.37
Didn’t take any wickets, but didn’t go for too many either, despite bowling in some tough periods.
Chris Jordan 8/10
3 wickets @ 23, ER: 8.75
His 1-41 in the second game was actually a very good return in the circumstances, bowling at the top and the tail in a game when 200 was par, and he was even better in the third, claiming the key wicket of Haider Ali among his 2-29.
Tom Curran 6/10
2 wickets @ 39, ER: 9.75
Bounced back well after conceding 23 in his third over of the series, keeping Pakistan to just seven from the last over of the innings. Curran was excellent in the third game, foxing Babar Azam with an in-seamer and taking England within one blow of victory with the bat.
Adil Rashid 4.5/10
2 wickets @ 36, ER: 10.28
Bowled the spell of the game in match two and got smashed by Hafeez in match three, which happens to the best of us.
