The MCC has decided to make the parking and storage spaces at Lord’s available for use by the NHS staff on the frontlines of the battle against Covid-19.
The UK is one of the regions badly affected by the global pandemic, with over 22,000 infected by the novel coronavirus, including Prince Charles and prime minister Boris Johnson. At the time of writing, 1,408 deaths have been reported.
The MCC has provided 75 parking spaces for NHS staff at the Wellington Hospital, University College Hospital, and the Hospital of St John and St Elizabeth, all of which are located in close proximity to the iconic cricket stadium.
In light of the current situation regarding the outbreak of Covid-19, MCC has been in continued dialogue with Westminster City Council as to how the Club can utilise elements of Lord’s for the good of the community.

“The close proximity of a number of hospitals to Lord’s gives the club the opportunity to assist medical staff so they can concentrate on their ongoing battle against the virus,” the MCC said in statement.
“We are continuing to work closely with our local community, hospitals and organisations to offer support as best as we can during this period.”
