Lanka Premier League 2023 will be played from July 30 to August 20, 2023. Here are LPL 2023 captains – the skippers for all sides.
LPL 2023 will feature five teams – Colombo Strikers, Dambulla Aura, Galle Titans, Jaffna Kings, and B-Love Kandy. They will play each other twice each in a double round-robin league format, between July 31 and August 15.
These will be followed by the playoffs – Qualifier 1 on August 17, Eliminator on August 17, Qualifier 2 on August 19, and the final on August 20. There is a reserve day for the final, on August 21.
Jaffna Kings will be led by Thisara Perera, while Thilina Kandamby will coach them. The Jaffna franchise has won all three editions (once as Stallions, twice as Kings).
Jaffna beat the Galle franchise in the first two finals and the Colombo one in the third. Dasun Shanaka will lead the Galle Titans this season, with Chamara Kapugedera as coach, while skipper Babar Azam and Simon Helmot will be at the helm of the Colombo Strikers.
The two other teams – Dambulla Aura and B-Love Kandy – will be led by Kusal Mendis and Wanindu Hasaranga, and coached by Avishka Gunawardene and Piyal Wijetunge, in that order.
