The Karnataka State Cricket Association’s new offering, the Maharaja Trophy, will begin on August 7 — here’s the full squad and team list for the 2022 KSCA T20 tournament.
The competition will replace the Karnataka Premier League (KPL), which had run for eight seasons until 2019 before it was halted due to betting and match-fixing scandals. In a bid to stay away from controversies, the upcoming Maharaja Trophy will not have a franchise-based system with team owners. Instead, the KSCA will form and run all six teams.
The edition will feature six teams from different regions of the state: Mysuru, Shivamogga, Hubballi, Raichur, Mangaluru and Bengaluru. The final of the tournament will be held on August 26 and will feature a host of stars such as Mayank Agarwal, Manish Pandey and Devdutt Padikkal.
