With Virat Kohli, like the rest of the world, currently shut indoors as the world grapples with the Covid-19 pandemic, the Indian captain’s wife, actor Anushka Sharma, tried to satisfy his attention cravings by being a “particular type of fan” to him.
On Instagram Anushka can be seen urging Kohli to hit a four in a humorously crude manner. “Aye Kohli,” Anushka says in the video, “kya kar raha hai, chauka mar naa, chauka” (Kohli, what are you doing, hit a four).
The camera then pans towards Kohli, who gives an unimpressed look in response.
“I thought he must be missing being on the field,” Anushka wrote in her caption, alongside the video. “Along with the love he gets from millions of fans, he must be especially missing this one particular type of fan too. So I gave him the experience.”
Kohli and his wife, much like the rest of the cricket world, have been very active on social media during the lockdown. Cricket has come to a standstill the world over, with several countries placing very tight restrictions on travel and mass gatherings.
