Indian wicketkeeper-batsman KL Rahul joined the global brigade of cricketers ting to the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic by donating a selection of his personal cricketing kit.
Rahul, in collaboration with a clothing brand, has donated his Test, ODI and T20I jerseys from the 2019/20 season, along with his batting kit, including gloves, pads and helmet, and one of his bats from the 2019 World Cup, all bearing his autograph.
The gear will be auctioned to raise money for the Aware Foundation, a UK-based charity organisation that helps underprivileged children in India. Rahul’s deed coincided with his 28th birthday.

In a video posted on Twitter, Rahul said: “Since it’s a special day for me, Gully and I have decided to do something really sweet and special. Couldn’t have picked up a better day to do this. Go out and check the auction, and show some for me and the children.”
