Keshav Maharaj, the South Africa left-arm spinner, signed a deal with Lancashire on Tuesday, August 28, and will be with the county for the remainder of the ongoing season. He is set to play in Lancashire’s clash against Worcestershire on Wednesday.
Maharaj, 28, has picked up 90 wickets at 27.65 from 22 Tests, including a return of 9-129 in an innings against Sri Lanka in Colombo in July.
“We’re really pleased that Keshav has joined the club. He’s a world-class spinner and will strengthen our bowling attack for the final four Championship games,” said Glen Chapple, Lancashire’s head coach.

“He is an international bowler with experience of bowling in English conditions and we’re looking forward to welcoming him to Emirates Old Trafford.”
Maharaj said he was ‘thrilled’ to have signed with the county.
“Having previously played in England with South Africa, it’s been an ambition of mine to return and play county cricket,” he said.
“I’m very much looking forward to joining up with the squad and hopefully I can make a significant contribution to help the team during my time here.”
