Keaton Jennings went to a second Test hundred on the third day of the first Test in Galle as England built a commanding lead in their second innings against Sri Lanka.
The tall left-hander was made to wait on 98* over the tea break with the tourists 351 ahead.
Jennings’ first century came on debut against India in Mumbai in December 2016. Since then he has struggled at international level, enduring torrid home series against South Africa in 2017 and India in 2018.
But in Sri Lanka he has been well served by the sweep and reverse-sweep, which have given him the majority of his runs.

Rory Burns was run out for 23 in the morning session, with Moeen Ali and Joe Root both following soon after for 3 each.
After a watchful start Ben Stokes grew increasingly dominant and was clean bowled by a big-spinning delivery from Dilruwan Perera just as he threatened to move through the gears. Buttler joined Jennings and was at the non-striker’s end when he reached his century by tucking Dhananjaya de Silva towards square-leg shortly after tea.
