He confirmed the development in a post on Twitter, saying “I’ve quarantined myself at home and am following all the necessary protocols as advised by my doctors. I want to thank all healthcare who are supporting me and many others across the country.”

In general, the reaction was one of sympathy, but Kevin Pietersen, as is his habit, chose a different path.
“Can someone please tell me, why you need to announce it to the world, that you have Covid?!” he tweeted, not long after Tendulkar’s announcement.
Many interpreted it as a veiled reaction to the news, including, seemingly, Yuvraj Singh, although he rowed back, suggesting he was only joking with Pietersen.
And how come you thought of this today and not before ? 🧐

Pietersen then said his tweet was put out before he had “seen Sachin has it”.
