James Vince has been included in England’s 17-man squad for their ODI series against Pakistan as the team announces a slew of personnel changes for the upcoming matches against Ireland and Pakistan.
Hampshire’s Vince had originally only been included in the 13-man squad to face Ireland in an ODI and Pakistan in a T20I. In the ongoing Royal London One-Day Cup, Vince has scored 402 runs at an average of 80.40, which includes a score of 190 against Gloucestershire last Friday.
England have also added Nottinghamshire’s Ben Duckett and Middlesex’s Dawid Malan to the 13-man squad set to play an ODI against Ireland in Malahide on Friday and a T20I against Pakistan in Cardiff on Sunday.

Nottinghamshire’s Alex Hales and Surrey’s Jason Roy are the batsmen who have made way in the squad. Hales has been dropped following reports he was handed a 21-day ban for taking recreational drugs, while Roy has been withdrawn after suffering with a back spasm that first affected him in Surrey’s match against Middlesex last week. The latter hopes to return for the Pakistan series but is receiving treatment in the meantime.
Durham quick Mark Wood has also been withdrawn from the 13-man squad and will instead play for Durham in two Royal London One-Day Cup matches against Nottinghamshire and Yorkshire. He will then join up with the England ODI squad in London next week ahead of the Pakistan series.
