The second season of the Indian Street Premier League is set to get underway from January 26. Here's all you need to know about the tournament.

What is the Indian Street Premier League?

The league was founded last year, as part of an initiative to uncover emerging cricketing talent. Played in the T10 format with a tennis ball, there are several unique rules in the tournament, such as the "tip-top toss", nine runs awarded for hitting the ball outside the playing area, and so on.

A total of six teams are part of the tournament – Tiigers of Kolkata, Majhi Mumbai, Falcon Risers Hyderabad, Srinagar Ke Veer, Chennai Singams and KVN Banglaore Strikers – each with investment from prominent Bollywood perosnalities.

Sachin Tendulkar has been named a core committee member of the tournament, with Ravi Shastri in the role of chief mentor. The player auction for the 2025 season took place in Mumbai on December 11, 2024.

Just like last season, all matches will be played at the Dadoji Kondadev Stadium in Thane.
