Kishan dished out an excellent performance at the top of the order, justifying the management’s faith in him in his maiden international innings. The left-hander scored a 32-ball 54, helping India mitigate KL Rahul’s early loss with his counterattacking innings.
Kishan crunched five fours and four sixes in his knock, batting at an excellent strike-rate of 175. He smacked the first six of the India innings – arguably the best shot of his fiery half-century. He stood tall against a half volley from Tom Curran, depositing it in the stands of the grand Narendra Modi Stadium.
Despite playing in his first international game, the 22-year-old showed no signs of nerves.
