India, having won the 2025 Champions Trophy, are eyeing their next prize in the ODI format, the 2027 World Cup - here is their full list of ODI fixtures before the start of the tournament.
After finishing as runners-up in the 2023 ODI World Cup, India ended their extended trophyless streak with a T20 World Cup win the following year. They followed it up with a Champions Trophy victory in 2025 to mak it two white-ball tournament victories out of two.
Out of 24 matches in the last three ICC tournaments, India have won 23, with the sole loss coming against Australia in the 2023 ODI World Cup final. Having jointly played the least number of ODIs (3) last year, India will play 27 matches ahead of the 2027 World Cup.
India's ODI fixtures till 2027 World Cup
India v Bangladesh (away): 3 ODIs
August-September 2025
After a two-month IPL window followed by a Test tour of England, India's first ODI campaign after the Champions Trophy will be against Bangladesh.
India v Australia (away): 3 ODIs
October-November 2025
The Bangladesh limited overs tour will be followed by the Asia Cup, which will be played in the T20 format this year as a precursor to the 2026 T20 World Cup. That makes India’s next ODI assignment a three-match series in Australia.
India v South Africa (home): 3 ODIs
November-December 2025
India will end the year with a three-match home series against South Africa.
India v New Zealand (home): 3 ODIs
January 2026
For the first time since the Champions Trophy final in Dubai, India and New Zealand will reconvene in the format in January 2026.
India v Afghanistan (home): 3 ODIs
June 2026
After co-hosting the T20 World Cup with Sri Lanka and completing another IPL season, India will next face Afghanistan in a three-match ODI series. This marks the first time the two teams will play each other in a bilateral ODI series.
India v England (away): 3 ODIs
July 2026
Almost a year after their Test tour, India will return to England to play three ODIs and five T20Is.
India v West Indies (home): 3 ODIs
September-October 2026
India's next assignment will be the home series against the West Indies.
India v New Zealand (away): 3 ODIs
October-December 2026
For the second time in 2026, India will play New Zealand, but this time it will be an away three-match ODI series.
India v Sri Lanka (home): 3 ODIs
January 2027
India will begin 2027 with an ODI series against Sri Lanka at home. They will look to avenge their 0-2 defeat from last time around in 2024. The series will conclude their preparation for the 2027 World Cup set to be held in South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia later in the year.
