India v England, ODI series 2021 – India Player Ratings
Rohit Sharma: 4/10
90 runs @ 37, SR: 86.53, HS: 37
An uncharacteristically low return for Rohit Sharma in terms of runs. He still made important contributions at the top of the order, scoring 25 or more every time and stitching two fifty-plus partnerships with Dhawan.
Shikhar Dhawan: 8/10
169 runs @ 56.33, SR: 94.41, HS: 98
A statement series from the left-hander. He may be the reserve opener in T20Is, but he has shown why he remains India’s first-choice opener in the 50-over format.
Virat Kohli: 7/10
129 runs @ 43, SR: 86.57,HS: 66
His wait for a 71st international century goes on, but Kohli remains India’s most important ODI batsman. His timely fifties in the first and second ODIs were vital in India putting on sizeable totals. The India skipper dropped another catch in this series but also took a blinder in the third game.
KL Rahul: 9/10
108 runs @ 88.50, SR: 101.14, HS: 108, Three dismissals
A phenomenal return to form for the classy batsman. After notching up three ducks in five innings, Rahul turned his fortunes around in the ODIs. An unbeaten half-century in the first game followed by the only century by an Indian in the series. Rahul was also good behind the wickets in the first game.
Shreyas Iyer: 1/10
6 runs @ 6, SR: 66.66, HS: 6
An unfortunate injury ended his series early.
Rishabh Pant: 8/10
155 runs @ 77.50, SR: 151.96, HS: 78, One dismissal
Adding bite and zing to the middle order, Pant was an excellent addition to the ODI XI. Coming in for the injured Iyer in the second and third games, the left-hander played two excellent counterattacking innings, both 70-plus.
Hardik Pandya: 6/10
100 runs @ 33.33, SR: 144.92, HS: 64 | No wickets, ER: 5.33
Hardik Pandya’s bowling fitness still remains a matter of concern, but his batting was as strong as ever in the ODIs. His 35 in the second ODI and 64 in the third were crucial in India setting 300-plus targets.
Krunal Pandya: 6.5/10
95 runs @ 95, SR: 128.37, HS: 58* | 1 wicket @ 160, ER: 8; BBI: 1-59
An emotional cap ceremony followed by the fastest half-century on ODI debut – Krunal Pandya had an excellent start to his 50-over international career. He had the highest batting average for an Indian in the series. His bowling, however, was not up to the mark.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar: 8/10
6 wickets @ 22.50, ER: 4.65, BBI: 3-42
Taking up the reins in Bumrah and Shami’s absence, Kumar showed his class with three impressive games with the ball. His economy rate was splendid as always. Kumar also picked up the vital wickets of Jonny Bairstow and Jason Roy in the third ODI.
Prasidh Krishna: 7.5/10
6 wickets @ 29, ER: 6.91, BBI: 4-54

Kuldeep Yadav: 1/10

Continues to struggle in the current Indian set up.
T Natarajan: 3/10
