Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, the captain and vice-captain respectively of India’s white-ball teams, will end the year jointly at the top of the all-time men’s T20I run-charts, with 2633 runs each.
Both Kohli and Rohit were on fire in the third T20I against West Indies in Mumbai on Wednesday, December 11. Rohit first set things up with a 34-ball 71 from the top of the order – a knock comprising six fours and five sixes at a strike-rate of 208.82 – only to be bettered later by Kohli.
The Indian captain, in an almighty rage, hammered a 29-ball 70*, having come in in the 13th over. He remained unbeaten to boost the total to 240/3, having found the fence 11 times altogether, including seven sixes.

Rohit and Kohli have been dancing around each other in the all-time T20I run charts all year, and it is perhaps fitting that they end the year together at the top of the pile. Their career strike-rates are identical too – Kohli’s 138.07 marginally bettered by Rohit’s 138.21 – but Kohli averages significantly higher at 52.66, as opposed to Rohit’s 32.10.

Rohit, however, has four T20I centuries and 19 half-centuries, while Kohli is yet to reach three figures in a T20I, although he has scored 24 half-centuries.
The duo are followed by New Zealand’s Martin Guptill, who has 2436 runs in 83 matches at 33.36. Shoaib Malik (2263 at 30.58) and Brendon McCullum (2140 at 35.66) round out the top five.
