India A will play New Zealand A in three four-day fixtures and three one-day matches beginning September 1 – here is the IND A vs NZ A 2022 schedule, containing the full list of fixtures and match timings for the tour.

After a long break, India A will participate in a series against their New Zealand counterparts. The last time an India A side was assembled was in December 2021, when the outfit toured South Africa for three unofficial Tests.

These tours, which were a massive part of India’s cricketing calendar prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, have often provided a platform to several players to stake a claim for a spot in the senior team. The likes of Mayank Agarwal and Mohammed Siraj have thrived in this set-up, while Hanuma Vihari led India A the last time they played. This time, too, there are numerous Indian players who would want to make their chances count.

From New Zealand’s perspective, this is a great opportunity to test out their bench strength. Most of their senior players have just returned from a tour to the Caribbean and are preparing themselves for a three-match series against Australia. Hence, some of these fringe players have the ideal chance to strengthen their credentials.

The tour will begin with India A taking on New Zealand A in three four-day fixtures, with the first of those starting on September 1 in Bengaluru. The one-day instalment will begin September 22, with each of those games set to be played in Chennai.
