Record seven-time champions Australia topped the points table with 39 points, thanks to 18 wins from 24 matches while hosts India also won the same number of games to finish second with 37 points. Four-time winners England finished in third place with 32 points. They won 15 of their 24 games.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh, West Indies, Pakistan and Ireland will be involved in the qualifiers. They will be joined by Thailand and Scotland and a further two teams out of these six will compete at the World Cup.
The schedule and venue for the qualification tournament are yet to be decided.
Bangladesh had sparked hopes of a dramatic qualification after winning the second ODI against West Indies by 60 runs. However, they failed to capitalise on their chances in the pivotal final ODI with the batters losing the plot.
With the exception of Sharmin Akhter, none of the batters could resist the West Indies bowling unit led by Karishma Ramharack as they collapsed for a sub-par 118. The hosts got to the target in 27.3 overs with Qiana Joseph and Deandra Dottin steering the ship.
