The Hundred is set to return for its fifth edition in 2025. Here’s how the squads have shaped up after the list of retained players and direct signings were released.
Steve Smith, Trent Boult and Meg Lanning are among the 12 high-profile players set to join the fifth edition of The Hundred. For the first time, the teams were able to acquire players through Direct Signings rather than having them from the The Hundred draft.
New Zealand’s Amelia Kerr, Kane Williamson, South Africa’s Laura Wolvdaart, David Miller, Faf du Plessis and Heinrich Klaasen have already been confirmed alongside Australia’s Meg Lanning, Megan Schutt and Marcus Stoinis, and Afghanistan spin maestro Rashid Khan.
Jos Buttler, Nat Sciver-Brunt, Beth Mooney, Hayley Matthews, and Ellyse Perry are among some prominent names who have been retained by their respective sides ahead of the 2025 Hundred Draft on March 12.
Overall 148 places across eight teams have been locked through Direct Signings and retentions on the Deadline Day on February 25, with 68 still to be filled.
