Former England off-spinner Graeme Swann has reportedly signed up for the 2018 season of Strictly Come Dancing. Cue the Swann Lake jokes.
The twirler-turned-twirler will be following in the footsteps of former cricketers-cum-dancers Michael Vaughan and Phil Tufnell, who took part in 2012 and 2009 repsectively, as well as Darren Gough and Mark Ramprakash, winners in 2005 and 2006.

“Producers love a sportsman and cricketers have a great track record,” a source close to the show told The Sun. “Though Graeme might come across as a bit awkward, they’re hoping he’s got twinkle toes like some of his predecessors.”
The show is set to begin in September and continue through the autumn with the TMS commentator perhaps taking advantage of an empty winter schedule after TalkSPORT snatched the rights to England’s overseas tours.

Swann is no stranger to causing waves with his shapes, his infamous ‘sprinkler’ dance having become one of the defining images of England’s Ashes victory in Australia in 2010/11.
